Located near Sierre in the heart of the swiss Alps, 2 hours on the train from Geneva, Crans-Montana ski area offers exceptional views over the Alps and the Rhone Valley. The ski resort offers 140km of pistes and is famous for sunny days a very friendly atmosphere, fabulous food, really quite divine wine, beautiful shops and a whole host of other activities.
I was lucky to be invited for a few days to experience it first hand and so first thought was what to pack after a few years of no winter Alps trips. There are a lot of looks I prefer, so after a bit of research this is what I took as my essential kit.
Snow jacket, pants and thermals from Dare 2b Sunglasses, goggles and helmet from Sinner snow boots from Mammal and of course my Olfi camera
I didnt know much about the brand to be honest, however I am now in love with it! My needs are style, of course, i prefer medium weight jackets when its super cold and padding for comfort and i like a slightly fitted look. Not too baggy, not too fitted. I also had a colour scheme of white and beige in my mind and so when i saw this set i was immediately drawn to it. I took:
Insulated and highly waterproof/breathable Oxford polyester stretch fabric. Seam sealed. Mapped with AEP KINEMATICS for a technical fit that moves with you on the mountain. Fully lined with high warmth, low bulk fill. Underarm zips, detachable hood, Powder blocking snowskirt (detachable) with gel gripper. Cosy inner rib cuffs. Multiple pockets and a headphone port.
Highly breathable/waterproof Softshell pants with a slim cut and four-way stretch. For cruising groomers, spins in the park and mountain top lunches. Waterproof/breathable iLUS D-Lab Softshell fabric to protect against wind, rain and snow. Soft-touch and brushed on the inside for fuzzy warmth. Slim, but not tight with a slight flare to sit over boots. Articulated knees and part elastic waistband.
Best looking base layer i’ve seen in ages – I’m absolutely mad for leopard print. This was gorgeous to wear and i’d recommend to anyone. Perfect combination of stretch and coverage, legs and arms great length and i was super happy taking my jacket off and wearing at apres. I love it.
I’ve been recommending all the kit since getting back, the range of looks and fit, combined with excellent tecchnical features all at a fantastic price, has left me as a super fan of brand.
Look out for part 2 and in the meantime go check out the full range from Dare 2b online
