It’s Going To Be One Hot Summer In Courchevel!

A NEW CYCLING MOUNTAIN PASS

The Col de la Loze cycle route is THE new arrival this summer in Courchevel, which is set to delight cycling fans. The 5.8 kilometre cycle track is reserved solely for cyclists, finishing at the Col de la Loze, which culminates at 2,304 metres!

– Eiffage Col de la Loze Time Trial: Sunday 30th of June and 28th of July
– 3 Vallées Addict Tour: 13th & 14th of July
– La Haute Route Alpes, France’s largest amateur cycling stage race: 26th of August.

RED BULL 400

On the 6th of July 2019, the steepest race in the world will take place on the Olympic ski jump in Courchevel Le Praz for the 3rd year in a row. The challenge: a 400-metre run up a 36° gradient, totalling 140 metres of vertical climb. New for this year: the final will take place at night. For experienced competitors, the record to beat is 3 minutes, 26 seconds!

HOKA ONE ONE X-TRAIL

On the 4th of August, Courchevel is hosting one of the most beautiful trail runs in the Alps. From the stunning landscapes of the Vanoise National Park to views over the highest Alpine summits, there’s a choice of 4 routes: 11 kilometres, 22 kilometres, 33 kilometres and 54 kilometres over ridge and balcony trails.

SUMMER SKI JUMPING WORLD CUP

The only stage held in France, Courchevel is set to welcome the best ski jumpers on the planet to the Olympic ski jumping site in Courchevel Le Praz. On the 9th and 10th of August, these birds in flight will launch themselves into the air at over 100 kilometres an hour from the top of the Olympic ski jump. An exceptional aerial spectacle will give the 2 days of competition its tempo.

TRIATHLON FELT X3

On Sunday the 18th of August, this mountain triathlon welcomes solo competitors and teams of three, for an event combining a 750 metre swim, a 17 kilometre cycle (1,000-metre vertical climb / 80-metre vertical drop) and a 6.3 kilometre running race (180-metre vertical climb/drop).
An original race format: the swimming race comprises two sections with an ‘Australian exit’ (halfway run), making the event even more spectacular.

ISU INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR FIGURE SKATING GRAND PRIX

 

The sole French stage in this very high-level competition, the International Junior Figure Skating Grand Prix is an exceptional opportunity to see the ice skating stars of tomorrow shine. From the 21st of August to the 24th of August, athletes aged between 13 and 21 will represent a total of 24 nations. On the programme: Men’s, Ladies’, Couples’ and Ice Dancing competitions. On the last day, a gala will draw the event to a close in the most spectacular manner.
