Red Bull Éléments Returns to Annecy Region

The 7th edition of the endurance relay race Red Bull Éléments was stage around, above and in Lake Annecy in France last weekend.

The contest involves four disciplines (free water swimming, trail running, paragliding and mountain biking) and this year there were 79 teams taking part.

The free water swimming takes place Lake Annecy with two loops, the running race is 11.2km with nearly 2000 vertical metres of climbing to where the paragliders take off, and mountain bikers need to travel 21km on a circuit with 1500m of descent and 1500m of ascent.

Some of the world’s best competitors were in attendance for each discipline, including Axel Reymond, Logan Fontaine and Aurélie Muller for the free water swimming and Olympian Bart Brentjens in ATV.  In the trail running Thibaut Baronian, Cédric Fleureton, Sacha Devillaz, Gédéon Pochat, Adrien Perret, Adrien Perret, Laurie Renoton and Werner Marti were all there.

The winning team, ‘Paragliding Mag Boys’ including Axel Reymond, Adrien Perret, Benoit Outters and Thomas Griot completed the four disciplines in four hours, 26 minutes, 8 seconds.

Next year’s event in September 2018 has already been announced.
