Nestled amidst the rugged beauty of Bozeman, Montana, Oboz Footwear stands as a testament to the spirit of outdoor adventure. Born from a fusion of ‘Outside’ and ‘Bozeman,’ Oboz is more than just a brand; it’s a reflection of a deep-seated passion for the great outdoors and the community that cherishes it. With every pair of shoes crafted, Oboz embodies the essence of the trails that inspire their design – durable, comfortable, and steadfastly reliable.
I tested the Oboz hiking show on a recent hike in the Chiltern Valley;
I lace up my Oboz Katabatic Low Waterproof shoes and feel a sense of anticipation for the day’s adventure. The breathable mesh uppers and reinforcing PU sections promise a day of comfort and durability on the trails.
The path ahead is a mix of rocky inclines and muddy tracks, but the Trail Tread outsole grips the terrain with confidence. Each step is cushioned by the light, responsive midsole, and the O FIT insole supports my feet through varied landscapes.
Crossing a shallow stream, I appreciate the B-DRY lining. My feet stay dry, proving the shoes’ waterproof claims. The abrasion-resistant materials and TPU overlay reinforcements handle the underbrush and rocky outcrops with ease.
Hours into the hike, my feet remain comfortable, no hot spots or blisters in sight. The standard width fit accommodates my feet perfectly, and the rubber sections at the heel add stability on uneven ground.
Not only are these great shoes but I am happy with the sustainability benefits they come with. Oboz plant a tree for every pair of shoes made!
Overall, the Oboz Katabatic Low Waterproof shoes are a hiker’s ally—comfortable, versatile, and sustainably conscious. They’ve proven their worth on this day-long hike and I look forward to many more treks with them.
