Leading British mountaineer Alan Hinkes OBE set to feature in the latest biopic from Terry Abraham.
Alan Hinkes is the first and only British mountaineer to climb all of the world’s fourteen 8,000m mountains. In 2017, Alan’s extraordinary career will be brought to the big screen and documented in a stunning new biopic produced by leading outdoor filmmaker, Terry Abraham and sponsored by Fjallraven.
A meeting of two true outdoor legends, Terry’s new film will document Alan’s life-long love affair with the hills and mountains, both in the UK and further afield. Starting at school in Northallerton, Yorkshire, Alan’s passion for the mountains has never waned. If you cut him in half it says ‘mountain man’ and he loves the Fells and crags of Britain as much as the Himalaya. As well as experiencing success and climbing difficult, dangerous peaks, Alan has had a few close shaves and near death experiences, many recounted in his book ‘8000 Metres – Climbing The World’s Highest Mountains’.
A renowned cinematographer and outdoor photographer, Terry’s latest project will build on the critically acclaimed success of his ‘Blencathra’ and ‘Scafell Pike’ BBC documentaries. Not only packed full of adventure-filled stories from Alan’s impressive career, the film is set to be a spectacle for the senses with expansive views and sweeping panoramas that show the glory of the untamed outdoors.
Production of the film, which will be sponsored by Fjallraven, has already started and the premiere is set to take place on October 24th 2017 at the Rheged Centre in the Lake District where tickets are already on sale for the premiere.
