In May I was invited away for a 4 day trip to Galicia, Northern Spain, exploring some of the best sights this stunning region has to offer, including riding some of the trails across the Galician mountains. I haven’t visited the region before, although have read a lot about it. Santiago de Compostela being the most famous city, one that has been a place of pilgrimage for over 1000 years, I was super excited but equally intruiged as to what the trip would lead us to.
Part of the activities involved mtb rides across the ready and watiing trails in and around the Galician mountains, thats all i knew, so i was presented with the question; What do i take? what do i wear, what will the weather in the mountains be like at that time of year.. With the help of some friends i was given some kit to test out for the weekend and the selection could not have been more spot on. So take a look at this lovely lot…
This is a great size, lightweight, super comfy and has loads of different sections to keep all your gear organised and separate. The design includes a multi-purpose 13” MacBook® or hydration pack compatible sleeve and anti-theft technology including eXomesh®© slashguards, an RFIDsafe™ blocking pocket, a Roobar™ Sport locking system and a PopNLock security clip to protect your gear, 24/7. I found mine so comfy i didnt just use it for travelling, i used it whilst riding too..
The weather in the mountains as we all know can be instantly changeable, once minute its sunny and bright, the next its cloudy. The trails we rode were variable too, so we went from long wide open sections straight into darker forested areas so i needed lenses that would work in all conditions. These beauts from Dragon were perfect. They have transitional lenses which adapt to the light conditions, they’re super light, wrapped around nicely so no light coming in from the sides, they were fantastic at enhancing low light forested areas and also fine with the sunnier open trails. They looked pretty cool too, so, spot on Dragon, i thank you!
These Dragon EnduroX sunglasses are unisex (cool) and designed for a variety of sports, from mountain biking to trail running. Specialised features such as a ventilated frame and lens system along with adjustable nosepads/temples adapt to every condition providing increased vision, protection and durability. With both impact resistance and element protection, terra yellow grey transition lenses adapt to a dark grey tint in bright environments and yellow tint in low light environments.
I am simply in love with Mons Royale.. this tee does everything, stunning looks, cool and a bit edgey and the fabric and fit were bang on for riding. The back comes down a bit longer so keeps you covered up and the merino fabric wicks away and dries super quick so i was feeling great the whole time. Again really important in changeable weather when one minute its raining, the next the suns out and super hot. Perfect for wearing to relax in too, i’d wear Mons Royale all day everywhere if i could. The epitome of versatality. Awesome brand!
