Tour operator Alpine Elements has just announced what’s new for its summer alpine programme. Remarkably the company is offering more than 80 different activities to try out and most are included in the cost of the holiday – including the Kids’ Club – vitally important for families where parents want a bit of ‘me’ time!
“The French Alps are not just for skiing. The summer months offer a wide range of sports and leisure activities from mountain biking to hiking, SUPing to via ferrata and rock climbing, horse riding to air-bagging,” said company spokesperson Emma Trueman, who added, “This is the type of holiday that makes shouts of ‘I’m bored!’ a thing of the past!”
Alpine Elements is serious about mountain biking – it even has specialist MTB chalets and hotels with bike clinics. The company has a new bike fleet this summer which means that you will be able to explore the mountains on top of range Specialized bikes. Whether you’re a MTB newbie or a seasoned pro, there’s a bike to suit all levels. There’s also the option to upgrade onto suspension, high-tech bikes for a small additional cost.
Alpine Elements also have guided mountain biking available at no extra cost. There’s around 850kms of routes, tracks, trails and downhills to explore so let your Guide take the strain as he navigates you expertly around the mountains.
This summer Alpine Elements will be offering guided walks in Val D’Isere, Morzine and Les Gets at no extra cost. This opens up hundreds of kilometres of mountain passes and breathtaking scenery to discover. There’s also a free lift pass included with your holiday so you can rest your legs, take in the never-ending panoramics and reach some really high vantage points. The guided walking groups are consist of around 8-12 people and the route is around 3-4 hours long with routes and hikes to suit all fitness levels.
Alpine Elements’ Kids’ Club are split into three age groups.
“We totally get that 14 year olds do not want to be hanging out with 4 year olds, even if they are related!” says Emma.
There are two sessions a day and the kids will have a great time experiencing everything from archery to wake-boarding; mountain biking to blob jumping; den-building to trampolining; luging to SUPing. Told you they’d never get bored!
The new Chalet Austin is a luxury chalet for eight and joins Alpine Elements’ portfolio.
Located in Morzine in a spectacularly elevated position, Chalet Austin offers far-reaching views across the valley and up into the mountain of Avoriaz. It has been built from the ground up into a luxury chalet with Italian designer en suite bathrooms, huge floor to ceiling windows and stylish interiors with many local artisan touches. It sleeps eight, and each of the four bedrooms has an en- suite.
Due to its elevated position, it is 750m from Morzine’s centre but the regular resort shuttle bus means you are easily connected to the hustle and bustle of Morzine. You can of course walk to the village centre in around 10 minutes.
