Britain’s national downhill mountain bike series will kick off on the weekend of 1st/2nd April at Nant Gwrtheyrn (‘Nant G’) in Gwynedd Wales, the first of six stages over six months which sees the series in some of the UK’s most spectacular locations.
If you have never seen it live, its a great day out, spectacular viewing and gives spectators a unique chance to get up close to all the pro’s. Camping is available on site.
Supported by British Cycling and sponsored by HSBC along with various British bike companies this is the national DH series and is open to a wide range of competitors, right up to World Cup riders who will compete if it doesn’t clash with a World Cup event.
Round 2 on 13th/14th May see the Series at the British World cup venue of Fort William in Inverness-shire in a stunning location on Scotland’s west coast.
Round 3 will take place on 17th/18th June at Rhyd-Y-Felin, Bala, Round 4 on 29th/30th July at Moelfre, Powys, Round 5 on 19/20th August at Llangollen, Clwyd and the series will conclude with Round 6 on 16th/17th September at Hopton, Shropshire.

Race divisions include Junior Women, Women, Juvenile Men, Youth Men, Junior Men, Senior Men, Master Men, Veteran Men and Grand Veteran Men. Each race weekend will follow the same format.
“The start of practice on Saturday allows riders not in Expert or Elite to get two full runs in to learn the track and get up to speed,” said a statement from the organisers, “With a limit of 250 riders and the same amount of uplift booked for 320 riders we saw riders easily getting 10 runs or more if they wanted it with very short queuing times.”
