Exciting New Downhill Biking Route Opens in Switzereland

STORY BY Patrick 13th June 2017

New for 2017, the Grütsch Trail is definitely not for the faint-hearted, but a ‘must-do’ ride for advanced mountain bikers looking to push the limits.

Situated in Lauterbrunnen in the spectacular Swiss Jungfrau region, the red-classified route starts just below Grütschalp Cable Car Station and descends approximately 600 m over 3 km. It’s being hailed as ’20 minutes of pure cycling pleasure’, and offers bikers everything to hone their skills as they navigate the north shore areas, sheer drops, and flow trails to the valley exit point.

Visitors to the Jungfrau Region can access this and more adventures when they travel with Jungfrau Railways. The Jungfrau Travel Pass allows visitors to travel as often as they like for the duration that suits them – three, four, five or six consecutive days – on a variety of popular routes in the Jungfrau Region. The Jungfrau Travel pass costs from 180CHF (£142) per adult for a three-day second-class pass
