From 29 June to 1 September 2019, the popular ski area of Val d’Isère-Tignes becomes a mountain-biking haven, with 160 km of summer tracks for enduro, downhill and e-biking. Like skiing, the paths are colour coded according to the difficulty level; green, blue, red, black and even double black for those after the ultimate challenge. New for summer 2019, riders can find a new play section on the green Popeye trail plus other parts have been remodelled, notably the first rest area which features modules for learning how to jump. In addition, the top of the Bellev’hard black piste has undergone a total makeover, with a series of jumps and vertigo-inducing views. And don’t miss Tabasco, a new enduro track at the top of Bellevarde – when bikers reach the bottom they can make the most of the bigger bike-washing area.
A day mountain biking pass in Val d’Isère costs €10 / £8.60 pp per day and gives access to five lifts and the many trails.
