Four Days, Four Life Changing Experiences

STORY BY Patrick 9th February 2017

A company called  IGO Adventures which is famous for organising uniquely structured extreme expedition races, which are four-day, four-discipline life-changing challenges in some of the world’s most remote and spectacular wildernesses, has announced three such races for 2017.

This new expedition series will take place across three continents, beginning with the return of the popular Norwegian Challenge – N60° in March, followed by the launch of two new events: W114° in Montana and NW05° in Morocco.

The three distinct events will maintain IGO’s signature formula – four-days, four-disciplines, one race – whilst testing competitors in different ways across dramatically varied terrain and conditions.

IGO is the brainchild of Bobby Melville, inspired by his 48-day voyage rowing across the Atlantic Ocean to win the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge. Over 100 of the world’s leading adventurers and athletes were consulted during the creation of IGO and their experiences were distilled to form the unique IGO DNA which inspires every event – Challenge, Wilderness, Diversity, Camaraderie and Philanthropy.

The four disciplines in each ‘quadrathon’ vary from race to race but swimming, mountain running, kayaking, downhill and cross country skiing, orienteering and even fat biking can be involved depending on which race you choose.

Those seeking to just compete and try out the event or those who actively plan to complete a quadrathon are equally welcome to take part. Previous competitors include everyone from former members of the special forces to businessmen in their 60s.

From the moment of sign up, competitors are supported by a team of experts. Beginning with a full physical assessment, each participant receives expert guidance to ensure they are fully prepared to compete or simply complete. IGO is a fully comprehensive elite experience.
