An Ice Warrior Challenge in Dubai

One of the world’s most unlikely fitness tests, the annual Ice Warrior Challenge, returns to the indoor snow slopes of Ski Dubai on Friday, October 6.

Competitors will tackle a number of obstacles and challenges on the course which in the past have included wading through an icy pool created on the snow and being blasted by snow machines.

This year participants will race through snow, swing from frosty monkey bars, scale walls and navigate an inflatable zorb ball maze at -4°C when outdoor temperatures are likely to be topping 35C.

The event has proved ever more popular since it was first staged in 2009, and over the years has raised more than £70,000 for charity.

Taking part costs Dh250 with the fee donated to the Noor Dubai Initiative for the visually impaired.  Participants must be 16 years or older but don’t have to be super fit.

The winning male and female participants each receive 125,000 Emirates Skywards Miles and other prizes.
