MOUNTAIN of HELL – Les 2 Alpes

MOUNTAIN OF HELL, the most significant Summer event in Les 2 Alpes, celebrates its 19th edition this year. It is THE mountain biking competition not to be missed! A 3-day MTB downhill race, open to all, bringing together amateurs and professionals with one major aim – get there first !

A real MTB derby starting from Les Deux Alpes glacier at 3200m, with 2500m descent and a distance of 25km over snow, ice, shingle and rocks…. it’s all about getting down to the bottom of the hill as fast as possible Each year the route changes to add adrenaline and peps to the competition.
The final on Sunday is the highlight of the event. With 700 riders ready to hurtle down the mountain, adrenaline is guaranteed!

Registrations online

The registration fee is a fixed 74 €.
→ MTB pass for friday, saturday and sunday included.
The registration fee without licence is a fixed 98 €.
→ MTB pass for friday, saturday and sunday included.
→ Friday, Saturday and sunday insurance included.
No race on Friday, just free slopes inspection: each rider runs on his own responsibility.
The competitor has to have over 15 years of age the 1st day of the race (in June 29th, 2018)

Programme

Thursday 28th June 2018
5 pm to 77 pm: Competitors welcome introduction – AT PALAIS DES SPORTS DES 2 ALPES for registrations and MTB lift passes.

Friday 29th June 2018
Riders’ inspection of the 2 runs (qualifying and racing run) and familiarization with the Les 2 Alpes MTB area.
9 am to 6 pm: Competitors welcome introduction, Place des 2 Alpes in front of the Tourism Office for registration, collection of numbers and MTB lift passes.
10 am to 5 pm: Free track inspection for the riders of the 2 runs and familiarization with the MTB area and the collection MTB lift passes.
12 am to 7 pm: Shower at sports hall
5:45 pm: Riders briefing for the qualification on Saturday, Place des 2 Alpes in front of the Tourism Office .
6.30pm: Mashalls meeting at the tourism office.
10 pm: Shooter offered at Smithy’s with your “Event” pass
11.30pm: Night Of Hell @ Avalanche Club Discotheque (Free entrance with the “Event” pass)

Saturday 30th June 2018
Qualifying run
9 am to 10 am: Competitors welcome introduction, Place des 2 Alpes in front of the Tourism Office for registration and MTB lift passes. Free track inspection for the riders.
11 am: Jandri Express boarding
12 am to 3:30 pm: Starts at 30 minutes intervals for this unprecedented run.
12.30am to 7 pm: Shower at sports hall
2 pm to 7 pm: Expo village opening.
6 pm: Qualifications awards, draw to find out starting line up for the final + briefing – Place des 2 Alpes in front of the Tourism Office (or in Sports hall in the case of poor weather conditions).
11.30pm: Saturday Night Fever @ Avalanche Club (Free entrance with the “Event” pass)

Sunday 1st July 2018
The Race
5.30am to 6:45 am: Jandri Express boarding for the glacier.
9 am: Race start.
12 am: Complimentary SNACKS with the “Events” pass.
12 am to 7 pm: Shower at sports hall
1.30pm: Award ceremony, Place des 2 Alpes in front of the Tourism Office
4 pm: Close & see you next year…
