Self-guided tour operator, Headwater Active Holidays, has unveiled its 2026 cycling collection with eight new holidays across Europe.
“With more than 40 years’ experience under our belt, when it comes to handpicking our new cycling routes, destinations and hotels, this year we knew we had brought together all the best ingredients to create another incredible collection of holidays our customers will love,” said Paul Britchford, Head of Operations at Headwater Active Holidays, adding, “The new cycling trips for 2026 cover everything from fjords to the banks of the Rhine, coastal cycles and even a luxury offering in France’s Champagne region. We’re excited for travellers to experience them.”
New cycling holidays for 2026 from Headwater include:
On this seven-night journey around Switzerland’s most famous lakes, travellers will experience the best of Switzerland. At the beginning of the trip, they will explore the medieval town of Gruyeres – the birthplace of Gruyeres cheese – where they’ll explore its fortified 13th-century castle and learn about Alpine farming traditions. They will take the ferry across Lake Thun to Interlaken where they’ll enjoy a waterside cycle against a dramatic mountain backdrop. Other highlights include ascending the hairpin bends of the Brunig Pass and exploring the city of Lucerne.
The seven-night Cycling the Swiss Lakes – Vevey to Lucerne from £1,689pp, inclusive of accommodation, all breakfasts, Navigation app, bike hire, lake cruise and luggage transfers. Departures available March to October 2026.
Cycling from Bergen, travellers will witness the landscapes of Norway’s fjords, mountains and countryside as they island hop through the Sunnhordland district. They’ll spend two nights in the village of Rosendal which offers the option to venture on a hike or even explore the floating Salmon Eye experience centre. Highlights include visiting Norway’s third-largest glacier, Folgefonna, and the fishery museum in Bekkjarvik. Plus, on the island of Stord, they will enjoy complimentary access to their hotel’s wellness area.
The six-night Cycling the Norwegian Archipelago south of Bergen is priced from £2,819pp, inclusive of accommodation, all breakfasts, five packed lunches, five dinners, comprehensive route instructions, bike hire and luggage transfers. Departures available June to September 2026.
