You can’t beat the wonderful feeling of sitting on a mountainside and looking out at the view, or the night sky, winter or summer, from the warm comfort of a hot tub.
But how about from a hot tub, that’s, well, in the water itself?
This morning, commuters were treated to a strange sight, as the world’s first floating hot tub, The HotTug, splash-landed into its new London base in Old Street today.
The HotTug is a 3.8m x 2m wood fired floating hot tub, can be heated up to an invigorating 38C of fresh water which ‘HotTuggers’ can operate by themselves.
The boat is powered by an electric engine and will be stationed in Old Street this summer at the ‘HotTug House’. The experience, which lasts for 90 minutes can fairly be described as “truly unique” and looks set to be one of the most fun as well as unusual activities on offer in London.
On board the maiden voyage were Tommo Stuart Thomson (31 from London) and Jack Clegg (33 from Preston), cofounders of HotTug UK who aim to bring the HotTug to sites across the UK & Ireland.
“We aim to be the most unique and fun experience you can do on water. The maiden voyage was a success and we are nearly ready to open our doors for business,” said Tommo.
The pair’s initial Crowdfunder campaign was a huge success, hitting its target in just one week, but the campaign continues for one more week so customers can secure their places as one of the first to ride The HotTug, until 8.45am on July 11th.
