A new event for electric bikes launches in Valais this summer: the Verbier E-bike Festival, created by the organisers of the Freeride World Tour.
The four day event, which will run from 14 to 18 August 2019, will include the world’s largest e-bike exhibition and test zone and will offers trials, tours and demonstrations of some of cycling’s latest technology.
The festival offers all levels of riders the opportunity to trial the bikes individually as well as quiz the professionals on the details of E-biking. All participants will be able to enjoy the range of activities planned to include concerts, barbecues, professional rider get-togethers, food and refreshing drinks on the terraces, daily between 09.00 – 18.00.
Access to the trial area costs £11.50 and allows visitors to test as many E-bikes as they like on Verbier’s world-class trail system. A benefit of E-bikes is that the hybrid of manual and electric power serves as an equaliser for riders of different abilities. Families, couples and friends with varying levels of fitness can now ride together without anyone having to slow down or be left behind.
With activities ranging from gastro-cycle tours, full-day discovery tours, scenic races and even a race for kids, the festival offers something for everyone. The adjustable motor assistance on the E-bikes make routes accessible to a variety of riders and the cycle tours range from short 10-minute loops to 100 km endures against the clock, catering to all abilities.
Visitors will be able to test the electric mountain bikes on different tours including Le Tour Gourmand: for gourmets, a trail of 30 km between Vollèges and Lourtier, with tastings of local produce and delicacies.
For those with a competitive nature, the Verbier E-bike Festival will be staging three timed races of 33, 67 and 100 km. And for explorers, Le Tour des Combins et du Mont-Blanc is a three -day ride over 300km of trails passing through France and Italy as well as Switzerland.
Registration is now open and for those booking before 30 April 2019 enjoy a 20% off early-bird discount. For more details visit the Verbier E-bike Festival website.
