A race that allows and indeed requires runners to compete alongside their dogs will take place in the French Alps in August.
Canicross, part of the internationally renowned Trophée des Montagnes, begins in the little village of Oz-en–Oisans, close to the better–known resort of Alpe d’Huez, from 3–5 August 2019.
More than 250 participants from around the world are expected to take part in the competition, which will see runners and their dogs run through the stunning Alpine scenery of the region.

The race is open to all levels of runner and all breeds of dog, and anyone can come along and watch.
A seven-night stay (arriving 2 August 2019) at Hotel Grandes Rousses is priced from £258.60 per person (based on two sharing a double room with balcony). alpedhuez.com
