European Outdoor Film Tour

STORY BY Debbie 5th September 2019

The European Outdoor Film Tour enters its 19th round! Since 2001, the E.O.F.T. has represented the best in outdoor adventure and travel, and our newest trailer gives you an exclusive look at the handpicked documentaries included this year: www.eoft.eu/trailer

A highlight of this year’s E.O.F.T. is the film NINA WILLIAMS: HIGHLY ILLOGICAL, which features the climber executing some world-class highball bouldering. Her goal is to be the first woman to repeat Alex Honnold’s route Too Big To Flail in California. For anyone watching her scale heights of 15 meters without ropes or safety equipment, it will readily be apparent that this is not ‘climbing at jump height’. Elias Elhardt is well aware that it is a privilege to be a professional snowboarder, but how can he protect what he loves? How can one lead a life in the mountains without destroying them? The film CONTRADDICTION illuminates these ideological conflicts.

But that’s not all! Eliott Schonfeld—the face of the E.O.F.T. 19/20—attempts to cross the Himalayas without any performance clothing or equipment in LE MINIMALISTE. RETURN TO EARTH proves that even kids and teenagers can make mountain biking magic, and THE MOVEMENT celebrates running in all its diversity. You will also experience adventurous disciplines that veer far from traditional, like skating through the unpaved streets of Rwanda and a single round of golf across the vast, rugged expanses of Mongolia. And, seriously, who takes a Zeppelin to go skiing?

In addition, for the first time, a film about the winner of the 21st Century Adventurer Award will be part of the E.O.F.T. program. Four exceptional adventurers have been nominated: Antoine Girard, Tamara Lunger, Sarah McNair-Landry, and Ben Stookesberry. The award will officially be presented at the premiere for invited guests on 09 October 2019 in the Alte Kongresshalle in Munich. The E.O.F.T. 19/20 will then embark on its long journey to more than 500 events in 20 countries.

The E.O.F.T. 19/20 premiere in the UK: 01/11/2019 – 20.00h, Logan Hall, London
