Chalet rental specialist OVO Network reports that its summer bookings to chalets in the Alps, grew by 26% over the last year (2025 v 2024), and by over 18% the previous year (2024 v 2023).
The company say they’ve seen growing demand from holidaymakers for less developed regions, combined with more comfortable summer temperatures (in the high 20s) and travel that is more about activities and experiences than just the beach, has seen Alpine resorts grow in popularity over the past few summers.
As a result, this summer OVO Network has added four new resorts to its programme – Gérardmer in the Vosges; Pralognan-la-Vanoise in the Tarentaise Valley; Saint Martin de Belleville in the 3 Valleys; and Les Contamines in the Evasion Mont Blanc.
These join picturesque mountain villages such as Le Grand Bornand, Samoëns, St Gervais, La Clusaz and Manigod, as well as the historic town of Annecy and its lakeside villages.
Chris Thompson, director of OVO Network UK, says: “Over the last few years we’ve seen a big jump in demand for summer in the Alps as holidaymakers increasingly look for unspoilt destinations and new experiences. It’s no longer about having to head to the Med to lie on a beach or joining the crowds at a resort struggling with over tourism. It’s about discovering somewhere different, trying something new and really making the most of time with family and friends.”
The increase in summer demand has seen the Alps evolve into a land of experiences – hiking, cycling, paragliding, mountain biking, sailing, canyoning, diving, apnea training, tennis, golf, horse riding, paddle boarding, giant mountain swings, lakeside beaches, spas, cheese tastings, distillery visits, festivals and more are all on offer.
OVO Network, which specialises in authentic, unspoilt mountain resorts now has over 230 hand-picked chalets, each offering a range of facilities ranging from hot tubs, swimming pools and gyms, to cinema rooms and saunas. Some offer village centre locations, while others offer a true off the beaten track experience amid the mountains.

For families OVO Network has a range of over 80 Cool for Kids properties, designed to make family holidays easier and stress free. Each property is equipped with items including stair gates, bottle warmers, night lights and board games, while many properties also add fun extras such as table football, table tennis and a PlayStation.
Animal lovers can also choose one of 59 chalets that have the Cool for Pets label, enabling furry family members to holiday in the mountains and discover the famed walking on offer.
Cyclists can choose from over 50 properties that have been awarded the Cycling Friendly label, meaning they are close to some of the Alps’ best cycling routes, have bike cleaning and maintenance facilities, and secure bike storage.
Seven nights rental for up to 10 guests (max 9 adults) at Chalet Backflip in La Clusaz (pictured top) costs €1690/£1466 from 4 July 2026 – €169/£147 per person based on 10 sharing – with facilities including a sauna, balcony, Netflix and it’s walking distance to the centre of this picturesque resort.
Or seven nights rental at La Ferme Geromoise in the new resort of Gérardmer costs €2690 for up to 10 guests from 4 July 2026 – €269/£233 per person. Facilities include a hot tub, sauna (pictured above), table football and games.
