Three reasons to visit Innsbruck at Easter

Sunshine: See the city at its most beautiful – basking under a radiant blue sky, surrounded by stunning snow-covered mountain peaks and with average daily temperatures of 16 degrees. Relax in one of the lovely café gardens and enjoy your first cappuccino of the day in the spring sunshine.

Celebrations: Easter is a major cause for celebration in Innsbruck. There are Lent cribs, and Easter grave decorations in the city and villages, while Palm Sunday sees spectacular processions through the streets. Check out the Museum of Tyrolean Art’s 12 station tour around the city exploring cultural Easter traditions (until April 22). And browse the craft stalls at the Easter Market beneath the famous Golden Roof.

Ski: The nearby Kühtai and Stubai Glacier ski resorts offers the perfect springtime conditions for skiing. Then all that exercise means you’ve earned the right to try Innsbruck’s traditional Easter foods – visit city centre bakery Moschen’s to try ‘Fochatz’ flatbread and of course in the Capital of the Alps there is always cake at Café Munding and strudel at Café Kroll.

There are direct flights to Innsbruck Airport from major UK airports and the city centre is just minutes away.  For more information on the unique Alpine, urban and imperial attractions that make Innsbruck a must-see destination for tourists:
