Watch Shauna Coxsey, Matt Cousins at the British Bouldering Championships 2017

The BMC British Bouldering Championships (BBCs) 2017 returns to centre stage, right in the heart of Sheffield city centre at Devonshire Green, on 8-9 July, as the main event of the Cliffhanger Festival.

Who will win the BBCs 2017?

The best of British climbing talent will be showcasing their skills this weekend at the premier climbing competition of the season. It’s the perfect chance to watch Shauna Coxsey, BMC ambassador, reigning British Bouldering Champion 2016, and winner of the IFSC Boulder World Cup Championship for two years in a row, in action live.

In the men’s tournament, there’s all to play for, as current champion Matt Cousins will have to put on an incredible performance to retain his crown against such a strong line-up. He’ll be fighting off former champions Tyler Landman and Dave Barrans, and a host of strong youths looking for their first win.

Qualifiers take place on Saturday, and Semi-finals and finals are held on the Sunday. If you can’t make it, don’t worry, there’s always the livestream.

What else is on?

It’s not just the BBCs that’s happening, there’s a huge range of activities for the family at Cliffhanger festival. Sheffield city centre will be transformed into a playground for outdoor adventure, and the BBCs will be the star attraction.

Get to try a number of adrenaline-fuelled experiences that you may never have heard of. Struggle to overcome shaky slacklines, see how you compare to the pros on the trial bouldering walls, and navigate the trickiness of orienteering.

Live music, free events and activities will be spread across various locations in the city centre. Watch professional demonstrations and activities in sports including climbing, mountain biking, running, skateboarding, orienteering and much more.
